Tigon Studios news as The Hollywood Reporter, in an article regarding Hollywood heavyweights pursuing game production, includes a mention of possible upcoming project "Perrone" for Tigon Studios.  "Perrone" was previously [and possibly still is] a project of One Race Films

[excerpt from Bronx Times Reporter, June 13, 2002]
...Initial work began on the film titled Perrone as producer TJ Mancini [
Find Me Guilty] of Crossroads Production and Management filmed documentary interviews about the life of Frank Perrone.

Perrone was one of New York’s most honored and highly decorated police officers, but at the same time, he was also considered by some top police brass to be one of the most violent-prone cops on the force. Perrone patrolled what were considered the violent streets of the south Bronx in the 1970s...

Perrone was considered a hero cop by those in the community he protected and received commendations and awards for his work in saving a number of lives. Unfortunately, one of Perrone’s uncles had ties to the Mafia, making life difficult for the hero cop who walked a thin line between responsibility and obligation. Mancini states that Perrone was part of a corrupt police system looking to capitalize on Perrone’s friendships to bust certain mob figures. After refusing the undercover assignment later taken by Detective Joseph D. Pistone to infiltrate the mob, which was portrayed in the film Donnie Brasco, Perrone became a subject of much scrutiny by the Police Dept., prompting comparisons with famed Detective Frank Serpico...

For more on this project, check the Project News Archives

The Pacifier is soon to be released in more European cities in the upcoming weeks and interviews are again hitting the internet. From icWales.co.uk a few more soundbites from the international press junket held in March.

"I grew up in artist housing in Manhattan where no-one had money, where artists did art for the sake of doing it. All I've wanted to do is make movies, but what ends up happening is you become part of a corporate structure and that's where the dance begins."

Currently featured on the boards is
Vir, from the Vin Diesel Fans board, story and pics from the premiere in Spain.

May 13, 2005

In Vin Pics we have a short Q&A from the May/June issue of Soak magazine's interview with Vin.

Tigon Studios is in the news as its upcoming Bryan Singer project announced last November in the Hollywood Reporter, tentatively titled Secret Service, is one of the new titles listed for the latest in video gaming technology, XBOX 360.

Cinematical.com's take on last night's news...

Vin Diesel Won't Go Away: Variety in 60 Seconds
Disney's film division had a great 2nd quarter, thanks to ... wait for it ... The Pacifier.
Brace yourself - The Age of Diesel is opon us: one of the three big pics on the to-be-announced-Friday slate of Bob Berney's HBO Films is Sidney Lumet's Find Me Guilty, now in post-production, starring The Pacifier himself...

May 11, 2005

Find Me Guilty news tonight as Variety reports "at least three titles are expected to be announced Friday when HBO Films and New Line Cinema unveil the name and other details of their new specialty film banner..." One of the three titles listed is the Sidney Lumet film, Find Me Guilty.

For more news on this project, you can check into the Find Me Guilty section, if you are over 18 and have access, or Latest News.

In other Diesel-related movie news, Disney is reporting a 30% increase from last year's numbers:
"...One boost to earnings came from the Vin Diesel vehicle, "The Pacifier," which opened at $30 million USD and did $109 million USD domestic gross through May 9."

May 10, 2005

Vin will be presenting at the June 4th MTV Movie Awards, hosted by Jimmy Fallon. The show will air June 9. Thanks to DieselFan25 for the tip!  To ponder what he will wear, who he will bring and "Where In The World is Vin Diesel?" [and when will they make honey-graham crackers based on his (mis-)adventures?] go to Latest News.

New to the site and boards, DVD Special magazine [12 Dec 2004] scan and translation, thanks to Merlien and
Nata2402 [Vin Diesel Fever], can be found in Vin Pics.

DS: How did you feel wearing those contacts again that give the light-sensitive Riddick his special eyes?
VD: That’s my tender spot. If they tell me to jump into the ocean from 30 metres hight, I say okay! If I’m hanging on a rope for a whole week and nearly pass out: Why not? If some punches during shooting hit my face: No problem! The only thing I really feared were those contacts. It feels like wearing a hubcap under your eyelids, it burns like fire and you only see outlines, which got me hurt in the complex stunt scenes over and over again. So please do not remind me.

May 7, 2005

Thanks to Merlien, we have another article and its translation. TV Krant magazine (April 23-29, 2005).

Did you ever think of becoming a movie star?

Actually I did. After a failed adventure in L.A., I wanted to move back in with my parents. My father allowed me only to come back if I studied. So I took a course in journalism. The teacher asked us to write our own eulogy and I had to read mine in front of the class. I wrote: Vin Diesel died at an old age. He was one of the biggest movie stars of all times. He was invaluable worth to the country and a mulicultiral idol.
It sounded like I had changed all of Hollywood. While everyone knew me as a bouncer. The class looked at me like I was crazy.

Got more updates in Vin Pics:

In the May issue of letters to InStyle magazine, Vin got a raving compliment from a fan in Tennessee.
Could Nicole really be a board member in disguise? lol
[click bolded link for more...]

Thanks to Merlien from the Netherlands we have three new magazine articles and their translations:

Hitkrant
Did you ever change a diaper before you started with this?
You wouldn’t believe it, but I have had special training for that, hahaha. But it wasn’t nessacery, because it all went naturally. Usually I ply darker roles and the atmosphere on the set is also like that. But here I was constantly in a good mood because I got to play video games all day, throw baby’s in the air and play tag with a three year old.

Tros Kompas TV Guide
So, are you tough or shy?
I was never shy, but I did became it. As a child I had to beg for attention. I was doing breakdance on the streets and for real I did want attention. Maybe the shyness is a luxury I can afford now. But als it may be the by-product of all the attention I get but don’t want. Even when I go to get a slice of pizza, people stare at me, while I am chewing. And I am kind of Neanderthaler when I am eating!

Glossy Magazine
This is a very strange image! Muscleman Vin Diesel tries to get away on a pink girl’s bike....
[Note: what the article fails to mention is that this is an image from The Pacifier. They act like he was on that bike in real life.]

Also thanks to Nata2402 from Vin Diesel Fever, we have a German translated article from Bravo magazine.
Guard dog or cuddly kitten?
Well, actually I'm more the guard dog kind of guy. I fear I would hurt a kitten if I played with it like I do with Roman. He's an Italian mastiff - a fighting dog (?) so to say - and we use to tussle a lot.

Thanks to all of you!!!
[Click on magazine title for magazine, translation, and comments.]

We also have some older Vin pics/articles from the UK. Thanks to DieselFan25 for posting.

News on Spike Lee's Joe Louis project from Variety.com, Lee says he will be ready to start production of Save Us Joe Louis after he finishes up Inside Man, starring Denzel Washington [Inside Man is currently listed in pre-production on imdb.com.]

[excerpt]
Lee and Budd Schulberg have been working (writing ) the Joe Louis project for five years. It's the story of the two Louis-Max Schmeling championship bouts (1936 and 1938) and the global ramifications. Lee says characters involved in the pic will include FDR, Hitler, Mussolini and Sugar Ray Robinson for starters, adding Schulberg was on hand for the 1938 fight...

Thanks to Nata at
VinDieselFever.de (A VERY BIG THANKS!) from Germany we got her one on one interview with Vin!  Here's a sneak peek of it:

Nata: Thank you so much for taking the time to answer a few questions despite your busy schedule.

Vin: Hey, it’s a pleasure for me, it’s for my German community. (smiles back) You’re nervous…? No need to, calm down… (very very deep voice – putting is hand on my knee for less than 2 seconds)

Nata: Is it a big problem for you, to realize Hannibal with a lower budget?

Vin: No is it not. Just the opposite! It is really a challenge I'm used to. I didn’t have money for Multi Facial and Strays. But I continued! The more you have to improvise, the more you become creative! But let’s wait a bit, perhaps there will be further sponsors.

Nata: When will CoR be continued?

Vin: Latest in 2 years.

More interviews of Vin from France. This one via Belgium, thanks to Kapli, who found it in the April 13 issue of "Het Nieuwsblad."
You can find it HERE

How's it going with other projects, like Hannibal?
Did someone say Hannibal? (drops his voice even lower and starts to recite a monologue) With Hannibal I can keep talking for hours. (takes a little notebook out his pocket, it has little sketches for scenes and notes in it) The movie will look great. That is my pet project, I'm going to direct it myself. But I doubt it will be a family movie. (laughs)

April 13, 2005

We have two new forums added to our ever growing message board. The first one we'd like to introduce you to is Find Me Guilty, currently available to board members with Adults Only Access

Did Vin get the 33 questions?  Will he answer them? Or will he put us all on surveillance...again? Stay tuned!

Updates from the ladies who got to see Vin in Germany.  Thanks to Jurgen for some screencaps of the televised footage from the premiere.

germpremcap1germpremcap2germprem3

From Silsin:

"Then JS [JsVineyard] addressed him to give him the envelope with the questions and to tell him about VX and U.V.D.F.C. and showing him Kriszta he called her “The woman who knows it all about me!”. He also admitted to have visited VX and to like it. He also signed and personalized a pic for Purple Frogger after JS told him about her. And of course she asked for the hug and we ended up in his arms! I still can’t believe it!"

From JS:

"Nata [from Vin Diesel Fever] was able to ask him a few questions, here’s the summary:

Next TCoR within the next 2 yrs. (in 2 yrs. at the latest!), no new game at the moment because he focuses on Hannibal, Strays… we still don’t know (“This is haunting me forever, maybe SOON”), he’s shooting some Hannibal stuff in Spain just to see if the location fits and he was glad and proud that his fans attended the premiere."

You can read all of these and more past encounters in the new forum Near Vin Experiences  Pics of the Germany premiere can be found there, too and at VX [link above]

Coming Soon...Sneak Peeks of Find Me Guilty

April 11, 2005

Congrats to those who got to see Vin in Germany!  We hope you had a fantastic time and look forward to reading all about it!

For news on the premiere in Munich [there titled "Babynator"], check in HERE

Also, congrats to all who worked on
The Pacifier. It passed the $100 million mark this weekend, making it the 3rd film this year to do so.

New interview from New Straits Times - Malaysia Online News has Vin answering questions regarding his favorite movie [or at least one of many LOL], Kindergarten Cop, change of genres, his success, and his hair in
Find Me Guilty.

[on why he feels anxious due to his successes]
"Because you get those comments like the Chronicles Of Riddick. We all know the truths of all the elements that go into distributing a film and opening a film. We all know from our experience it has less to do with the film than it does with all the other people pushing the film out. That’s another job. You make the movie, you go through post and at some point, you give the film over to other people to distribute and release the film.

The good thing, though, is if you make a film with your heart and you do everything that you can to make the picture as dense as possible, meaning, a solid film and you believe in the scene and you believe in the character relationships, regardless of what it does opening weekend, you got a dense film. You may get a film like Chronicles Of Riddick that does not do US$100 million on its opening weekend, but when the DVD comes out, people are going crazy because it’s got this groundswell, it’s got this energy that cannot be contained on opening weekend. You don’t want to do a film that is an opening weekend thing. I can look back on all my movies, whether you liked them, whether it was not your type of picture and I feel good about every movie I made."

In tangent news, congratulations to Graeme Revell, who received the Richard Kirk Award for Outstanding Career Achievement. The award is given annually to a composer for his outstanding work and contributions in motion picture and television music

April 10, 2005

A new article regarding
Find Me Guilty is online at The Electic Newspaper. Vin discusses the change of pace from action roles to other genres, the process of becoming "Fat Jack" DiNorscio [the true-life DiNorscio passed away three weeks after the shooting of Find Me Guilty], and working with Sidney Lumet.

...Starving himself of human interaction was also part of his process to get in character as DiNorscio was serving a 30-year jail sentence during his court case.
Recalling his experience, Diesel said: 'It was definitely a weird feeling. I've had such a physical presence most of my life, to alter that so drastically, I had to fully commit.'
He relished having the opportunity to work with the same director who had worked with Marlon Brando and Al Pacino.
'I didn't care if I borderline killed myself on this film. I wanted Sidney to think that he had worked with the best actor in his life,' said Diesel unabashedly.

Thanks to unc0126 for finding the article.  For more information on the film, check out the thread in Latest News.

The Pacifier is edging ever closer to $100million [domestic].   Bring a bucket of popcorn and join us in Box Office Reports

Speaking of The Pacifier, more online interviews are available from foreign markets.  The latest comes from the Malay Mail Online. Read what Vin Diesel has to say about The Pacifier, fatherhood, his workaholic nature and his default status of action icon.

Q. What kind of father would you like to be?
A. That’s the trick. I want to be a great father like mine. And I think sometimes when you have such amazing parents, it takes you that much longer to have a relationship that meets the standards that you were raised on. So, the goal is to be a father like my father.
Q. But right now you’re working all the time...
A. Yeah, I’m working all the time and for so much of my life, acting and the world of creating films has been my primary thing. I used to think it was discipline, but I don’t know if it’s a disease to be such a workaholic. I’m a workaholic. My father’s a workaholic too. He’s 70 years old and he still wants to get a film into Cannes.

April 5, 2005  [updates from Feb 22 - current]

In The Pacifier news...

DVDAnswers.com has information and possible artwork for the DVD.

"The disc has yet to be officially announced by Disney, so I'm afraid details are still sketchy to say the least. We are however expecting this one to arrive during the late July, early August period. We'll bring you the official announcement just as soon as it arrives. For now though, here's our first look at the early artwork:
dvdanswerscover"

All in one place, for the most part, in Latest News are threads for interviews online, which includes information on what might be on the upcoming disk, thanks to the CHUD.com interview with director Adam Shankman [perhaps one of the funniest men on the planet]

"Q: Did you cut anything out?

Adam: Oh yeah. I cut an hour out of the movie.

Q: Any deleted scenes for the DVD?

Adam: I know there was a scene with Brad [Garrett] and Vin that had my favorite line in the movie and I had to cut it out. There was a scene, you know Brad keeps trying to get Vin to wrestle with him? No subtext there. There’s a little Adam Shankman in the movie. And he says, “Well, come on man, like, maybe you can come and, maybe one of these days we can come and wrestle, maybe we’ll strap up and give the boys a treat.” It was the line, and I literally fell off my chair when he said it the first time and I couldn’t believe it, but... And no one had an objection to the line it was just that the scene was such a repetitive scene to other scenes in the movie, so we cut it out, the scene, but I’m so upset we lost that line that you better believe it’s gonna be on the DVD.

Q: What are your other plans for the DVD?

Adam: Well, I don’t know if you’ve ever listened to my director commentaries, but I have a very nasty habit of revealing things that were never meant to be revealed, totally accidentally."

Regarding upcoming projects to be on the lookout for, from Latino Review:

"We know you've been into D&D, what are you into now?

Vin: Well, you know, my video game company Tygon keeps me pretty packed with hobbies because I'm really kicking people's ass online. There was a book that just came out, did you get that? 30 Years of Adventure. Interesting book. It's a coffee table book by D&D. 30 Years of Adventure with Dungeons and Dragons, celebrating Dungeons and Dragons. I write a forward in it that is dead on about my experiences at Dungeons and Dragons and what that did for me growing up, in terms of being a training ground for imagination. You actually see all the, the more you know about the Dungeons and Dragons, the more you'll see the thought process that went into the Chronicles of Riddick mythology. But I'm working on something called Melkor, which will be a whole rated R fantasy experience.

What’s next film wise?

Vin: What am I going to shoot next? Well, Hannibal is forever haunting me, on the horizon, waiting. Hannibal is at the summit of the Alps right now calling my name."

So many interviews to read, watch or listen to...you can catch up on them all HERE

News & Notes for The Pacifier dating back to January 2004 to the present can be found HERE  Included are more articles and comments, including Stax script reviews, movie reviews, articles during pre- and post-production regarding cast and crew, etc.

"NYPost - Liz Smith

OUR CONGRATS to Vin Diesel. The public knows what it wants, and they wanted to see Vin in a comedy with kids. I found the actor more appealing and convincing in "The Pacifier" than in his action films. While it couldn't be a more predictable movie, Diesel is a likeable personality. For all his muscle, there's something sweet about him."

And while the critics were less than kind, that didn't stop the movie from becoming the "surprise" #1 hit its opening weekend, pulling in $30.2 million. The movie is still going strong in its fifth week on its way to possibly $100 million by week's end.  For box office reports, you can find articles and updates HERE  courtesy of Box Office Mojo and Box Office Prophets.

In other "iffy" news, congratulations to Vin on his Razzie nomination for "worst actor in a movie", along side President George W. Bush, Colin Farrell, Ben Affleck, and Ben Stiller.  While some might feel this is not an honor of sorts, The Razzies are less about films than they are about poking fun at celebrity. [excerpt]
You’ve written and directed your first two movies yourself. Did you ever have the feeling that you only succeeded because of your own initiatve?

...You’ve got to have something to show, otherwise you don’t even have the chance to go to an audition. I wanted to make movies at all costs and I had many ideas, but of course no money. So I worked as a telemarketer until I had enough money to realize one of my ideas as a short story.
Telemarketing is, by the way, an excellent form of acting school: you have to convince somebody completely with only your voice. Within the shortest time, I was one of the most successful employees ever and they were very sad when I quit. (laughs)
Then I had very good luck because Robert Redford saw my short movie MF and managed to provide me with sponsors, so I could make my first full-length movie Strays. Redford showed it at the legendary Sundance Festival; there Steven Spielberg became aware of me and offered me a part in SPR.

January 14, 2005

Just a heads up from Dia I, Vin will be featured in the March 2005 issue of In Style as their Man of Style, just in time for the release of
The Pacifer.

"In every issue the stylish magazine dedicates two pages to men that have an air of style. So, don't forget, by Feb 18 at newstands."

Thanks, Dia!  No word on what Vin will [or won't] be wearing, but that doesn't mean we won't have comments either way. Share yours in Latest News.

January 10, 2005

Thanks to Kapli, we have scans from a recent DVD Review Magazine interview wherein, aside from
The Chonicles of Riddick, Hannibal and romantic movie roles are discussed.  You can view the scans HERE

[Re Hannibal]
Going across the Alps and all that? It will be on a bigger scale than anything I've ever done but because I am directing it, I'll have to be that much more clever and restrict the budget to a certain amount, because I don't think anyone will give me the $217 million that's required! [Laughs] The funny thing is, I get this budget from the studio, that's $217 million dollars below the line. You know what that means? I'm thinking to myself, "What are you basing this on? No one in the world can get that? How could you get this movie made? You better get a lot more creative if you want to see that happen." I'm taking a whole other approach, just give me 40 million and see what I can do.

What about romantic films?
I've been developing something called New York Giant, which is a romantic comedy. It is My Fair Lady set in the football world. So, we're developing that, but I'm thinking about Hannibal all the time. I'm obsessed I must confess. I'm going to cross the Alps!

Tidbit on imdb.com message board from an extra on the set of Find Me Guilty.  Anyone else hoping this will find a distributor soon? [I said "soon."  hehe...heh.]  For more info and to comment, check out Latest News.

From an extra...
I was an extra on the NJ set of Find Me Guilty and i think this one will be a sleeper -- in the good way... i think it will get the same reaction from people as Donnie Brasco did -- not as much in the way of subject matter as it will in the way of effect... where it will be good, but not great, but it will make you think about "the system."

Thanks to Shazzsazsa we have a snippet from GMR gaming magazine which goes to show how much can change the minds of reviewers of film from work in another medium.  Put in your two cents HERE

"There were the detractors of THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK: ESCAPE FROM BUTCHER BAY. Yeah, the name reeks of ESCAPE from L.A., but given how little hype this game got, I was dumbfounded by how much I loved it. I've always looked down on Vin Diesel, but this game actually convinced me to check out some of his films, and I was suprised again."

DieselFan
has found a new candid [read: paparazzi] pic of Vin from the 7th of Jan.  You can see that pic and debate Vin's wardrobe change in Vin Pics.  Also in Vin Pics, NumbuhOneVinFan has more high resolution pics to share.  You can check them out in The Gallery and mop yourself off the floor HERE.

January 3, 2005

Congratulations to the teams who put together Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay for the various awards and recognitions received the past few weeks.  You can get the highlights HERE in Latest News.

Expect news stories with mentions of the upcoming Find Me Guilty, directed by this year's recipient of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences' Honorary Award, Sidney Lumet.

The Los Angeles Times CalendarLive.com has an on-set article and interview with the director on their site. [subscription is needed, although they do offer a trial membership]  For more info, see Latest News.

[excerpt]
...With more than 40 movies on his curriculum vitae, what Lumet lacks in youth he more than compensates for with experience, especially when it involves his preferred genre, the legal drama.

To observe Lumet on a movie set is to be reminded of how movies used to be made, before special effects and post-production tricks rendered the principal photography of actors a minor component of a film's final construction. With "Find Me Guilty," the movie is nothing more — or less — than what Lumet can capture from his performers on a New Jersey soundstage.

Working with versatile digital video cameras, Lumet made much of "Find Me Guilty" as if it were one of his 1950s live television dramas, which included "Playhouse 90" and "The Alcoa Hour." With no need to change film magazines, scenes could run for several screenplay pages at a time. In taking yet another tip from the "get-it-fast" book of TV production, Lumet employed two cameras at the same time, so that he could simultaneously record both participants in a dialogue...

Also new is proof that Vin does leave the house without his entourage from time to time, though the question now is with whom?  Speculate away with the rest of the peanut gallery HERE

And lest we forget those pals of his, Big thanks to Titine69 for finding a clip of Vin doing some holiday club hopping. You can see it here in Latest Vin News.

Another thanks, this time to VinDevil, for we now have more stunning photo shots of Vin. Check it out in Vin Pics HERE and
